Parliamentary Commissioner for the Federal Police Authorities

Uli Grötsch currently serves as Parliamentary Commissioner for the Federal Police Authorities at the German Bundestag, a position he has held since March 2024.  He previously served as a Member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2024, representing the Social Democratic Party (SPD), where he held key roles including Deputy Spokesman on Internal Affairs and spokesperson in major committees of inquiry related to the Federal Criminal Police Office and the National Socialist Underground (NSU), and was also a member of the Parliamentary Oversight Panel.  Before entering politics, he built his career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer from 1995 to 2013 in several locations across Germany after completing his training between 1992 and 1995.  He was born on July 14, 1975, in Weiden in der Oberpfalz and is the father of two children.
