Dirk Peglow currently serves as Federal Chairman of the Bund Deutscher Kriminalbeamter (BDK) (“Federation of German Detecitves”) and holds the rank of First Chief Detective Inspector. He has built a long career within the Frankfurt am Main Police Headquarters, where he has held various investigative and leadership roles, including in organized crime, homicide, and operational units, and currently works in the operations division. In parallel to his police service, he has been actively involved in police representation and union work, serving in multiple positions within staff councils and as Deputy Federal Chairman of the BDK before assuming the federal chairmanship in 2021, after previously leading the BDK in the state of Hesse. He joined the police service in 1989, completed his training and later a degree in Public Administration at the Hessian University of Police and Administration, and has also been a lecturer there since 2013. Born on July 15, 1969, in Frankfurt am Main, he is married and has two children.
