Andreas Hanger currently serves as a Member of the Austrian National Council, representing the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP). He focuses on internal security, anti-corruption, and public administration, and has played a prominent role as his party’s spokesperson on investigative committees. He also serves as President of the Austrian Civil Protection Association (Zivilschutzverband). Prior to entering federal politics, he held senior positions in the Austrian civil service, including as Secretary General at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, where he was responsible for coordinating key security and administrative reforms. Earlier in his career, he worked in regional administration in Lower Austria and studied law, building his professional background in public administration and governance.
